That was definitely the part that made me think a lot about that perception versus reality of how well respected as a doctor he is in the community, the wonderful work that he's doing.

And even when something does go wrong with the patient, he almost blames himself and he really wants to understand what happened here, what's going on.

However, how he is with his wife.

And then when I found out, okay, there's an affair going on, I said, okay, that might make sense why you're treating her that way, you know?

And it was just so terrible.

But of course, as the story develops, you know, things end up happening to him about that affair.

And I thought, well, that's interesting because he's just a complex character because you just don't see it coming from him.

So when you realize he is doing this, a doctor's behavior, but then he still is a great doctor.

So I think this book, if there is something it taught me, is that two things can be true at once, right?

And this idea of what is happening behind the scenes, behind closed doors, or even when Irene is talking to her friend, Rita, I believe, you know, you can see that they're both trying to keep up appearances.

There's this idea of what we should say and what should be happening in our homes and what kind of a good wife, what does a good wife do?

But then what's really happening behind the scenes is completely different.

So these characters are very complex.

It's very complicated.

I tend to go for the larger books, to be honest, because I want to lose myself in something.

I do want something that lasts me a long time because then I can get attached and immersed in the characters.

And I just finished my PhD.

I was in school for a while, so I couldn't have things that were ending too soon or distracting me.

So the longer pace the book would take, the better for me.

Good for my biceps.
