I share the concerns that I have when it seems like we're trying to fast track certain conversations versus going through the process of setting a public hearing date.

Just as a reminder for the public, this item was referred to BGIR committee and it was taken up today during a special call meeting under the leadership of that committee, um, Chair Graham.

And at this point the committee will continue to explore the the concept and make recommendations back to council.

The other thing that I would note about um the the specific statute that governs this uh

Road closure.

There is notice by publication for four consecutive weeks ahead of the item being placed on the agenda and it's by publication in in new in the local newspaper.

And so just for transparency to the public, those notices are made available so that people can be aware of the public hearings that are being scheduled four consecutive weeks in advance.

This particular statute requires publication in the newspaper four consecutive weeks ahead of it being placed on the agenda and so that is another opportunity for the public to be made aware of the matter being on council's agenda ahead of time.
