It has to be done when no one's looking in terms of being very intentional about working with our youth.
We solved the problem about proximity.
We have a school in every district in the city, in the county, middle schools, high schools.
On weekends when football season is over, the gyms are empty, the fields are empty, the track is empty year round.
There has to be a way.
for us to rally around this community getting the resources necessary to do proper program throughout the year.
for our kids.
Right?
And so we can't do it when there's a a shooting or a stabbing.
We can't do it when there's a teen takeover.
We gotta do it because it's the right thing to do.
And so I just encourage us to move forward.
Uh parallel with working with Dr.
Stewart to ensure that we're doing everything that we can to include others, churches, nonprofits, the school, uh Mecklenburgh County, because they have Hark and Rec, they have rec centers, right?
But more importantly, boy, there's schools throughout the county, high school, middle school, that's on weekends are empty.
