We were open and transparent with him, with the Melbourne Storm, with what we wanted.
and just couldn't facilitate something.
And that's okay.
So we're happy to sort of move forward without him.
And I'm awful of someone, if someone doesn't want to be at my club, what use is there having him there, right?
But at the same time, we had rights to him, right, as well.
So being under contract.
So I think we've played that well.
And I think a lot of clubs, and I think the sentiment –
generally around the league was, you know, good on you, Parramatta.
Well done for sticking stout and holding firm.
But in relation to, I guess, the sentiment around rivals, I think it's generally positive.
And again, I don't mean to sort of bring up injuries and use that as my main sort of point of argument, but we've been absolutely hampered.
There's been points where we've had eight or nine first graders starting plays in our first, you know, 17 or 19 that haven't been available.
And it's hurt us and it's hurt our depth.
So, like you said, we finished exceptional towards the back in the last year and had we won a few games earlier in the year, winnable games, we could have been easily fighting for the eight and the whole conversation narrative would have been completely different.
This year,
But injuries aside, defensively, it hasn't been, or to start the first six to eight weeks, we were in historic numbers.
We were down the path of being probably the worst historic or the worst defensive team in our history.
We were in that slot there to start, and I think we were averaging over 30, conceding, averaging over 30 points a game.
