Long before those 12 Grammys and the World Tours, a teenaged Jack White was already making sculptures at home in Detroit.
It remained a private passion, he told the BBC, until he played a concert on the balcony of British artist and gallerist Damien Hirst's London home in 2021.

The Cool Spaces Map, as it's being called, will show people where to find free air-conditioned spaces in London, ranging from the Royal Opera House and Imperial War Museum to churches, community centres and libraries.

But it will be updated through September, reflecting the reality that once-rare 90-degree days are becoming an ever more frequent occurrence in the English summer.

Opposition conservative leader Kami Badenoch drew applause for saying she stood for a Britain where Jewish children could go to school without fear of attack.
But Prime Minister Keir Starmer was a no-show, sending instead Cabinet Minister Pat McFadden.
Starmer has come under fire from a number of Jewish leaders who charge he hasn't done enough to stop the attacks, which have been growing in frequency and ferocity.
