Despite losing all his royal titles and honors, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor remains eighth in line to the British throne and could theoretically be in line to become regent should both King Charles and Prince William die before William's children reach adulthood.
Defence Minister Luke Pollard told the BBC.
Pollard says any parliamentary action should wait until the police investigation into Andrew has concluded.

The strong showings by the U.K.
's men and women's curling teams in Milan have quickened British interest in this slowest moving of Olympic sports.
Vicky Gumley of the Edinburgh Curling Club in Scotland told the BBC peak time slots are always booked whether the Olympics are on or not.
But high energy costs required to keep the sheet frozen mean most curling rinks are closed during the spring and summer months.
So all that newfound Olympic curling fever may melt along with the ice.

Writing in The Guardian, Keir Starmer condemns what he calls the reckless strikes plan, saying it is, quote, beyond belief that doctors would walk out during a major flu outbreak.
The doctors union is polling its members on the government's latest offer, which addresses some of their grievances about the shortage of paid training places, but contains no extra money.
The doctors have argued only a 29% pay raise will undo years of salary freezes.
If they reject the government's proposal, then they'll walk out for five days starting December 17th.

The promotional video for far-right leader Tommy Robinson's Christmas Carol event promises it will, quote, put the Christ back into Christmas.
Robinson's Unite the Kingdom rallies have increasingly wed his anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant messages to the tropes of fervent evangelical Christian rhetoric, a new departure for British political discourse.
So this appears to be the Church of England's response.
