and related to what their agenda is it's easy a little bit easier to see but as a city councilwoman when i brought to the attention to my district was something called local law 97 what is local law 97 local law 97 has to do with the green new deal and it has to do with changing all the apartments and condos and co-ops all electric

while Con Edison, who is our distributor here, is raising rates to unaffordable rates.

These condos and co-op boards are being hit with fines, and it started in the long past in 2019, but they started to put up these astronomical fines on these co-op and condo boards, whereas co-op and condo boards now have to take out liens against their overall property,

And you as a shareholder in the co-op and condo board, if you want to try to sell your co-op and condo, you're going to have a lien against your property.

So it's, but nobody knew about that.

Nobody, everybody said, Vicki, what's Local Law 97?

I never heard about it.

And I went on a tour throughout my district and I've got a ton of condo and co-op owners, close to 100,000 people live in co-op and condos here in my district.

And I had to educate them.

And then guess what?

I put in legislation, man, they would not even hear my legislation.

To at least kind of finish the rest of the story.

Well, because it gets sold back to the city.

What will happen is it will bankrupt the co-op and condo boards.

And guess who's going to buy it?

The city is going to buy it.

Now, I'm not talking about the Upper East Side or the Upper West Side.

I'm talking about a middle to upper middle class neighborhoods that make up District 19.
