And she was healthy.
She was the first second woman appellate court judge in California, second woman to be a superior court judge in Fresno County.
And sure enough, about four years later, she had a meningioma brain tumor.
And they said, don't worry.
It has nothing to do with that study.
It's benign.
And she died two years later.
And it was malignant.
And so...
If you would ask my family, my grandfather was always proud.
He was very poor, but he had three daughters.
And he said, I want them to be educated.
Nobody in our family has ever gone to college.
At that time, Stanford was the college.
So he sent his two girls.
One of them was crippled with polio.
She wasn't able to go.
And they both got bachelor's and advanced degrees.
And they were professional women.
And they loved Stanford University.
