Oh, I got so much support between Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook.
But folks were reaching out to me and saying, you know, I saw your tweet.
I've circulated it amongst my coworkers and we're having more, you know, transparent conversations about what we make.
I had one journalist reach out to me and say like, hey, I have never asked for a raise in my life.
Over the past month, I've been writing this letter to my boss about asking for a raise.
And I'd been so afraid to send it.
And I saw your tweet and I just sent it.
And so I got so many of these reactions.
People were saying, you know, like a lot of women reaching out to me saying, you know, this inspired me to ask for a raise.
And a lot of people of color reaching out to me saying, you know,
I'm less afraid to ask what another coworker makes.
And so I think it did do a lot in terms of
inspiring people to be more transparent about salaries.
I have pretty transparent conversations with my friends, with coworkers from all sorts of jobs that I've had in my previous and even before my last job.
I typically have very transparent, very open conversations because ultimately I want people to get paid.
And so however I can help somebody get to the next level of their salary goals, that's what I'm going to do.
I will say I haven't necessarily done it publicly.
And I've also in every job that I've
applied for and have gotten, I've typically reached out to somebody at the company to ask about, you know, how much should I ask for?
Aside from the base salary, what sort of benefits should I ask for?
