larger value B2B transactions versus smaller value B2P, B2M kind of transactions.
And with that, it's not impossible to imagine.
The US may not be the largest market in terms of transaction volume, but it's very possible that the US could be the largest real-time payment market in three to four years in terms of transaction value as more and more B2B cases take off.
Bank of America recently said that
the first six weeks since TCHRTP increased their transaction limit from a million to 10 million, real-time payment transactions over a million dollars now made up more than half the value of all the real-time payments that that bank was processing.
So there is an uptick taking place in these higher value transactions.
There are more use cases, whether it's real estates or deal closings that can now be possible on these real-time payment rails.
And so I think we will start to see more and more B2B traffic coming.
And if you just think in sheer numbers,
Last year, we had about $58 trillion of B2B payments on the ACH rails alone.
I'm not saying all of this will shift, but if a chunk of this moves over, that's substantial volume that can benefit from the value of instant payments and generate the growth that we're looking at.
So that's one, I think, the uptick in the U.S.,
Number two, I kind of mentioned this before in the lessons learned.
I think fintechs will be a big part of enabling this revolution.
And I expect the US regulators, real-time networks, et cetera, will follow in the footsteps of their global counterparts and open up the doors, making it easier for fintechs to not just participate, but also drive the real-time payments growth.
And on a more global basis, I think the one thing that I see happening, as more and more countries adopt real-time payment rails, real-time payments will grow from being a pure domestic play to a cross-border play, with multiple real-time schemes connecting to create these regional real-time corridors.
We already see this happening today.
So payments using India's UPI scheme, for example, can now be made outside of India in Malaysia, in Indonesia, in the UAE, even in France.
And then Europe has this big initiative going on right now called the EPI, European Payments Initiative, that covers 16 countries that are part of the EU.
And they are all integrating their instant payment networks with a wallet called Vero.
