And um in a way, obligation is also a question of power.
Because if you take obligation over something, that means that something has a power over you.
It can be your commander, it can be your president, it can be your country, your nation, it can be your patriotism, whatever.
But but this element of power not as violence but as authority, as something
you respect, something you trust, is is uh is very important.
Okay, so my conclusions.
Absence of power is bad.
Too much power is bad.
uh how to find uh a way a middle ground between extreme right and extreme left how to develop a philosophy that power is neither good nor bad it depends on the use power uh we we need to find some compromise between horizontality and and verticality and even in in the republican democratic societies we need verticality and we need to
Agree that some people will rule.
That means that their decisions will be final, for example.
We also need to, you know, understand that power is not always there, that some of the relations are not uh structured by power, some of the relations are structured by love, by mutuality, by friendship.
And uh, but the the interesting things in society which transforms the
society profoundly is how the old power declines and the new power is being born.
And the new power is being born, it can be born out of violence, but it also most probably will be born out of authority, out of hope, out of respect, out of trust and other things.
The second point, how do we get balance between horizontal and vertical?
And this is a very important question for republics.
The third uh issue, how how to think about power as something natural, not as constructed, not as a social construct, but something natural.
Um not primordial, but natural in the way that it grows like the plants grow out of the earth.
