Lived there until I was about four or five.

Then we moved to Boston, which I feel very happy.

Lived there until I was about 12.

Boston doesn't remember I lived there, but I did live there.

Yeah.

Then my mom wanted to move to Chicago, and I was there for a few months, but then hated it and moved to Alabama to live with my dad, who was in Mobile, Alabama.

The night I got there, I was like, oh, this was a mistake.

But I stayed for two and a half years, and I moved back to Chicago, finished high school, and then college in Philadelphia, back to Chicago, out to the Bay Area, where I've basically been ever since.

The way you ask that is so suspicious.

What did you hope to find in Mobile, Alabama?

So to be clear, I used to go there every summer, so I knew what I was getting into to some extent.

But I was just mad at my mom that we had moved out of Boston, and I liked Boston, and suddenly we were in Chicago.

I was the only child and sort of a –

didn't make friends quickly and was just resentful and wanted something familiar.

And then I got there and found something familiar.

I was like, but not, you know, I mean, my dad had gotten, I mean, he'd been remarried for a while, but really I went from being an only child with me and my mom to my dad was married to my stepmom and had, and they had, my stepmom had a daughter.

So that was in like a nuclear family where it was like, what do we all want to watch for TV tonight?

Where I, with my mom and be like, I got my TV.
