Like wasn't – I'm like thinking about how would my dad take this?

Wasn't necessarily nice to you, but you knew she loved you.

You know what I mean?

I have no doubt that she loved me and wanted the best for me, but certainly didn't suffer my foolishness.

Or my mom is nice, but my wife's mom is the classic grandmother who is making the arts and crafts and doing all the things with the girls.

Made famous through that HBO TV show that made Monterey seem nicer than it is.

Yeah, that's how they do it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

No, it was one of those... It was also that classic Southern family where there was, like, you know, like, some of my cousins were... Some people I thought were my uncles were actually my cousins, you know, like, because there was just so many generations of children and also so many, like, well, that person died and then we took that kid in and, you know, where you sort of, like, don't know exactly how you're related to everybody.

Yeah, so we had... But because I was by far the youngest...

I was like, my cousins were a lot older than me, so I didn't grow up with them in the way that my kids are growing up with their cousins.

Because I was like, my mom had waited.

It's funny to say this.

She was 36 when she had me, which at that time was super old to have your first kid.

Whereas everybody else was having kids out of high school or in high school.

And so I was by far the youngest on both sides of my family.

So I was an only child and also felt like an only cousin.

Except I had another... There was another cousin who was the same age as me, but she was actually like...

Her mom was actually my first cousin.

And then she was like, whatever that is, once removed cousin, but we were close in age.
