I I've gotta say, in some ways this this is A, not a surprise development and B doesn't even strike me as the first salvo in it.
I mean, I I immediately think of, you know, we saw those uh those attacks on politicians' officers, for example.
Um, when would that have been?
At least a year ago more, I think.
Where
What was interesting about those or what was instructive about those was the violence was clear.
There was a attack on property and the vandalism was clear.
But there was also the the affectation being used in in those cases, or at least some of those cases, of painting a red triangle on them.
That was actually something that is referencing Hamas videos.
So Hamas would put up videos online of them attacking some target.
They would pause the video and then put a red triangle.
pointing to what the target is, and so you could then follow the action as the target gets obliterated.
So to see those sort of things painted on parliamentary offices, is he saying
This is our legitimate violence, uh, target of violence here.
So the build-up to this has kind of been there.
We've been a little bit distracted from it because ASIO has been speaking so much about the neo-Nazi threat, about far-right violence, about Islamist violence.
Of course, we had Bondi, which shifted the focus very much to Islamist terrorism, you know, in a really profound way.
But this has been churning in
in the background.
And so I but I think it's a huge surprise in that way.
