pretty much all DACs just eschewed any USB noise isolation, no galvanic isolation in them.
And that's still true at the entry level, right?
Because one of the ways that a DAC maker can get their costs down is to not put galvanic isolation on the USB input.

But those little synapse gizmos at $50 to $80 are so effective.
And cheap, like as far as audio upgrades go, they are cheap.

That it's almost like has me wondering, like, does that mess up the order of of like upgrade options or.
Does it leapfrog like, okay, get your shit moddy DAC, right?
Because that's their intro line, which does not have galvanic isolation.
Because again, they're trying to keep the cost down.
Okay, get that, but then budget 50 more bucks for one of those synapse isolators in there too.
I don't know.
Any thoughts on that?
To get it earlier than in the process?
The Bifrost 2 has galvanic isolation on the OSP, but not all galvanic isolation is created equal.
So the mechanism that's used in the Bifrost 2, and we know shit is working on a Bifrost 3, so they may change this for the third generation.
But on the 2, they use a transformer-based mechanism.
galvanic isolation in there which is better than nothing but it's not great okay you know universally speaking but anyway continue yeah so your question of when does this matter yeah um in so when does this matter is always it's always there and uh right in system building when which should you prioritize it's a question of priority yeah
