But the thing about McLeod is that it doesn't really impact anybody until they're at the point where they're choosing their retirement benefits.

So it's one of those things.

I've heard about McLeod.

I'll stick it to one side.

And then you don't really...

So I'll just give you a kind of brief recap on McLeod.

McLeod was a high court judgment that ruled that the changes made to public pension schemes back in 2015 was unlawful.

unfair for some existing members of the public pension schemes and the NHS pension is one of those that were impacted by it and essentially what it means is that in the seven year period from 2015 to 2022

Everybody who's in the pension or who's been in the pension during that seven year period will have a choice of whether they put their benefits back into the old scheme, the legacy scheme.

So the 1995 scheme or the 2008 scheme or the new reform scheme, the 2015 scheme.

And that's a choice that people have to make when they decide they're going to take their pension benefits for the first time.

Oh, it's really difficult.

So there are three pension admin centres in the UK.

There's one in Fleetwood, which covers England and Wales, and there's one in Scotland and there's one in Northern Ireland.

So it depends on where our listeners are as to where they are with these statements and where they are with McLeod.

But it is universally painful.

So if we think about England and Wales, for example, if you retired before 2023, then at the moment you should have had a letter.

Going back to kind of last October, you should have had a letter that said effectively, bear with us, you're a little bit complicated and we don't have your numbers yet.
