So we always say start with the end in mind.

And no matter what age you are, if you're starting to think about well when can I retire, start to think about what does that look like.

And I know you c you can't really know exactly what it's going to look like at sixty, for example, when you're forty-five or fifty.

But as soon as you can start thinking about right, well, what do I like spending my time doing now?

Will I want to keep doing that in retirement?

You can then start to quantify that.

And if you can quantify that, you can then come and look at, well, well, what does my pension give me?

How soon can I get that from the pension?

Does that give me what I need?

Or do I have a gap?

And my pension.

And that's particularly important for women because the gender pension gap for women in NHS is actually much higher than it is for the general UK population.

And that's a reflection, I think, of a lot of our female JPs who do part-time a lot more often and so build up less pension than their male counterparts.

And so it's particularly important for any female.

GPs, women GPs listening to pay attention to that as soon as you possibly can because you will have probably a gap in your plan somewhere that you have the power to change and to sort before you get there.

So that all helps you and enables you to retire at the point that you want to retire.

Absolutely, because part of the reason that women are more likely to be part-time is that they're more likely to have caring responsibilities, whether that's family or something else, it means that it doesn't mean that they've got more free time.

That's laughable, isn't it?

Nobody's got more free time.

They've probably got less free time and less headspace.
