I love that this movie...
is what its popularity... And, you know, I knew... We've known... Because we now live in an age where there's one or two movies a year that...
we are told as moviegoers are going to be the movies that conquer the box office.
That save movies.
Right, right, right.
I mean, in Christopher Nolan's case, it's a Christopher Nolan movie, like, shocker.
But I kind of love, as a person who loves storytelling, Nolan has never...
He might be a virgin, right?
He might only see the world according to whether or not it can be diagrammed.
He might not really even have left the house to buy a coffee on his own in 20 years.
But he can make a movie...
That is operating according to a very complicated formal design that someone will give him 200 or, you know, some company will give him a quarter of a billion dollars to make.
And we, the first weekend it comes out, will erase that.
the $250 million debt or gamble that the studio has taken on this man.
And, you know, plus additional marketing costs, which I'm sure this movie will make up next weekend.
I love that he has taken this old-ass, ancient-ass, classics-oriented-ass, you know, great text.
And he has got us all on his timelines.
He has got us all...
understanding his visual language.
I think that people like you, the Nolan fans, are also conversant in a particular kind of cinema that is... It makes me so happy that it exists.
