And as you said, as the so-called bronze game goes, I think the Louis Non would have been better than that.

Yeah, why do you think that match was so good to watch compared to especially some of the other England performances we've seen in this tournament?

I think the pressure's off, isn't it, that both teams can play with a freedom.

There is nothing at stake, really.

I don't think people will remember who came third in years to come, although the third-place finish does actually represent England's best men's World Cup result since they won it in 1966.

But all the pressure was on the semi-final, and maybe there was just some sort of emotional release of freedom that allowed both teams to play like that, England in the first half and then France pretty much in the second.

So I do think it's the release of pressure that enables teams to play like that.

There's nothing really at stake.

And do you think then, from the French perspective, there will be much heartbreak over this, or do you think it will be a bit of a shrug of the shoulders from the French fans?

I suspect it will be a Gallic shrug.

I don't think we're shrugging at half-time.

It sounded like some of their fans were a little bit upset by what they were seeing, but I think it will be, yes, well, fair enough.

They wanted to win it, and once they were not in the final, I suspect whether they finished third or fourth was only merely a small matter of pride for them.

I don't think they'll linger too long over it.

As we've said, though, it was a great watch.

I mean, are we expecting, given that the pressure will not be off, the final later to be a similarly free-flowing affair?

Well, if there's any game with a lot of pressure on it, it's the World Cup final, isn't it?

But I was at the press conference yesterday and both representatives from Spain and Argentina seemed incredibly relaxed.
