You take all the letters and you sort of produce equivalent poems from these verses.

So it is formal, but it's also entirely new.

And, of course, one of the things that the narrator is tussling with is, you know, he's an actor who does dinner theatre and he doesn't really have any career prospects and doesn't know what he's doing and doesn't quite know what it is he believes.

Yeah.

But he does believe in something, plays.

And he, I think, also believes in the future insofar as he believes in plays and wants to do something that people will remember.

Yeah.

You know, the thing that's very moving about him outside the bag encountering Justine, you know, of course, she doesn't know who he is.

is that he wants to be remembered by her, but how can he be?

There are other black bags in the novel as well.

I mean, I think this business of wanting to do something or be something that is remembered and knowing that this is vastly unlikely is, I mean, to be honest, to be completely honest, it's why I've not written a novel for 10 years.

Because I just find that hurdle really hard.

I can't get over it.

And I also, I feel reasonably happy that I managed to do it at all and enjoyed doing it.

And I have a few books out there.

I think that's great.

Maybe that's not.

But I don't think, I find it really hard to sort of think, well, why?
