So I get ready to meet a sentinel face-to-face for the first time.

I drive a couple hours outside Seattle to a rural part of Washington state where Austin lives.

There's not a lot of meeting places around there, so we end up meeting at the local library amid the stacks of books and people walking around.

The J has like a little jester hat.

Austin says his entire journey to Washington State and ultimately to CHOP comes by way of the Juggalos.

These are fans of the hip-hop group Insane Clown Posse, or ICP.

I met up with some people on, like, an ICP website, and he offered me a room, and I've been here ever since.

The Juggalos are a subculture of self-described outsiders, misfits, mostly from working-class America.
