I just don't know if I can get behind that considering who's available.

So I see some fundamentals there.

Maybe, maybe the right person can get in his ear, get him and find something that makes him tick and,

I don't know what that would be like, but it's just one where maybe I'm missing something or maybe it's just not my brand, but it's just not my wheelhouse, the way that he plays.

And so I would look at different direction, I think, if it were me.

I love him.

I think he's a great player with a lot of potential.

I think it would be the only thing I think could go wrong is if a team drafts him and tries to turn him into like an Adam Larson.

And in reality, you might get a Rasmus Ristolainen out of him.

Like I think Smith is a guy that he plays to me like Brent Burns.

He is an aggressive offensive guy.

He pinches in the offensive zone.

He loves to have the puck.

He loves to be confident.

and i love that about him i think that's i think that's the type of swagger that is rare and i think hard to find and on top of that though you see him playing at the world juniors against guys like gavin mckenna you see him at the olympics against guys like jack eichel and austin matthews and quarterbacking the latvian power play and you go this kid does not look like he's 18 years old this kid plays like a grown-up this guy plays

He's been playing against men all year and parts of last year.

He gets tons of practice in the defensive zone.

His team wasn't very good this year.

I think he does have some refinements to work on, and some of his puck management is a little bit questionable.
