Well, I didn't come up with it, but I love this idea.

And that is after we bail farmers out of the mess that was created by the administration, if we can get to those free markets, I would love to see us take money that we dump into subsidies

to pay for the problems created by bad policy.

And I'd like to see us do some more targeted things with that money.

Like what can we fund to help grow herd sizes in the United States of America?

Are there low interest loans or grants that we can give out to farmers to help them build herd sizes by holding back heifers and that type of thing?

The other thing is,

In the last administration, we had put a lot of money into trying to build up regional slaughterhouses, processing facilities to compete against the big four packers.

And we were in the process of looking at changing the law so that those regional packing houses could sell beef across state lines, etc.

All of that was eliminated because it was quote unquote woke.

And now what's amazing is in this new beef plan that was announced last week, what are they doing?

They're bringing back those Biden policies under the MAGA name and claiming that they created them.

So I guess if they get put in place, that's a good thing, but they need more funding.

And the last thing I will say is I'm really worried about a siloing effect in the beef market that we've seen in row crop farming.

I really believe just in conversations I've had with some big ag economists that the packers would love to see a day where we treat beef like we do chicken and turkey, where they just bring the calves out to the farm and drop them off.

And the farmer's role is just to raise them from calves

you know, up to a sale weight and everything's controlled by the Packer companies.

And we've got to prevent that, you know, from happening.

So free markets, increased funding for programs that are going to make agriculture better and more competitive.

And I don't know.
