Um, they just did a poll about a month and a half ago.
Of the Senate battleground states, and Donald Trump has lost 37% of his support among rural voters.
36% among white rural voters, because my thirst first thought was: well, it's just you know crazy old liberal farmers like me and marginalized farmers like John that made up the difference.
But no, 36% of white farmers.
have changed their opinion of Trump.
And 12% of farmers that call themselves MAGA have changed their mind about Trump.
So this can't be about politics as much as it's about who's patting the bottom line.
And it's going to drive prices up in the future.
If I could just really quickly, when John talks about cattle replacement, he's talking about holding back heifers.
These are female calves that you hold I'm going to dumb it down for everybody, John, because not everybody's a farmer.
These are female cattle that you hold back and you wait until they become adults.
You breed them and then they go through the gestation cycle.
And that's how we grow the cattle herd.
Because the cattle herd being small is what's driving these high prices.
Well, cattle business is like any other business.
When you have a good year, if you're selling computers or boats, that's when you fix up the store.
That's when you buy a new repair van.
Cattle are the same way.
When cattle prices are high, you hold back your heifers because you're making enough money on the rest of the herd that you can afford to do that.
So if you eliminate that bonus, which is what John's talking about, you don't have the money anymore to hold those heifers back.
