And those stories in rural America are multiplied all over the country.

We have to wait longer after a car accident, after a farm accident, if we have a heart attack, if any other kind of medical emergency occurs.

Just imagine a parent of a kid like me coming to a town hall like that and laying out that horrific story and saying, how can you take our health care away?

And imagine hearing the answer from your elected senator.

Oh, well, we've all got to die someday.

That's a slap in the face to every mother, father, grandparent out there.

And I do think it was a critical moment in her campaign.

You say the quiet part out loud, you get caught, and then you come back with some milquetoast response to try to cover up what it is you really said.

She might as well have just stood up and said, I don't care.

I don't care that we're taking your health care away.

That would have been a hell of a lot more honest.

As the great John Lewis said, some of y'all are getting your education right now.

And that's what's happening out here.

I mean, I think it's happening in real time.

Is it happening as fast as we want it to?

No.

Is it happening to as many people as we want it to happen to?

No.

But yeah, they're learning.
