And if it wasn't, well, there didn't seem to be an answer for what happened then, just that people were changed.
God knows what that could mean.
I didn't want to tell the others why we were really here.
We all needed a break, and it seemed like a long shot anyway, exploring a ghost from one obscure podcast episode.
But I couldn't let even the slightest clue go.

It's the middle of winter.

They both relented and I led them down the road, heading towards the beach and keeping a lookout for coffee shops along the way.
Folkestone is an odd town.
The seafront can be beautiful and the creative quarter, it's a maze of cobbled streets, colourful buildings and artsy little shops selling beautiful things you don't need but really want.
Inland, though, it looked sad, pale and peeling.
Forgotten and neglected in favour of the glamorous harbour.
I couldn't switch off.
I wish I could shake the twitchy paranoia from my shoulders and enjoy my rainy day at the seaside, but after so long under attack, you're always waiting for what's next.
