There were lots of single sheets of worn paper, a couple of record keeping style books, and even a postcard.
I started pulling these out more in frustration than curiosity, to see if there was anything about them that would give me a clue as to why on earth someone would think this was a good thing to donate to a bookshop?
When I noticed a USB stick at the bottom of the box.
It took me a second to realise why this confused me so much.
And then I realized that it was because it was so tonally out of place.
These books and papers looked like they hadn't seen the light since the eighties, if not earlier.
And the box was dusty and sealed before I opened it.

Where
Did the USB stick come from?
Intrigued, but assuming that the extraordinary encounters I'd been through were causing me to pay more attention to this than it deserved, I popped the stick into the Bib's computer.
Nothing popped up.
I pulled it out again and looked down at it.
I was about to put it back in the box and throw the whole thing away, but my childhood muscle memory prompted me to blow on it and then try it again.
This time it worked.
A little external drive image popped up with the notification nameless drive found.
I clicked onto it and found just one folder with four files in it.
A text document called Read This Now in caps with an exclamation mark.
And then three video files.
I paused, torn about what to look at first.
