But, yeah, there absolutely is a surge in sales for Chromebooks, a surge.
It began around the back-to-school season of 2016.
They started to see – and this is NPD, the retail tracker in the U.S.,
Started to see double-digit sales month after month based on the previous year, like just huge sales increases.
And then this past November, so the month that just ended, it was almost 100% over the previous November.
So it was basically they sold essentially twice as many Chromebooks at retail as they did the November the year before.
Yeah, that's right.
So, you know, when I let my child use an iPad, for instance, I go in, there's a setting called restrictions.
You put a four digit pin and then you can turn off certain settings.
You can make sure that they can't do in-app purchases.
Maybe you don't want to use the browser or even the camera.
You can turn off all that in a very granular level.
It's great.
You know, Apple doesn't get enough credit for having a really solid parental control system in their iOS devices.
Chromebooks, like I say, we treat these sort of like iPads with keyboards.
They're not like a full-blown Windows computer.
They're something a little more simple.
And I would think that simplicity goes hand-in-hand with, yes, parental controls, especially given the fact that these are very popular among grade schoolers.
But the only way to do it is to basically become an IT administrator.
I mean, I don't want to scare you, but it is almost like being an IT guy.
