But, you know, I guess we all learnt something about how some of the organised sports really conducted.
And that was what was so disappointing.
Well, there were five commissioners and I was responsible for Africa and that was absolutely amazing.
I visited 22 African countries over two years and they were all terrific.
It was actually one of the African countries which shall be known as a team member because as you know there's 100 IOC members.
It was one of those who told me actually on the way to the bid the real story.
So even though I was sitting there hoping it wasn't all true when the
actual bid was announced that it had gone to Atlanta, I was just heartbroken because they wanted to hold it over so that Atlanta could get it, and the next one after that was going to be Sydney.
And Sydney desperately wanted it for the 2000 sort of Millennium Games.

Oh, I guess when we went down to Phillip Island, there were so many, so many stories.
And they were all French speakers, so we all had the people I was responsible for.
