Middleton is really good at setting Giannis up. Like, he has a chemistry with Giannis that basically doesn't exist with any other player on the team. Dane Lillard, obviously, included in that. And I do think there's a value to that. Obviously, the guy can shoot. There's a value to that. But on defense, whoo! Good God almighty. It is just treacherous for him right now.
And I think that's where the Bucs become their most fully formed self is when they aren't like some horrible defense. When they're good enough and then they can rely on the dominance of their freaking elite offensive players to carry them through.

And Darvin Ham's just having an incredible few weeks. The Bucs have finally turned the corner. His old job is looking like a hot mess. Shouts to him. Doc Rivers clearly, like, believes in what he does. Like, when you watch the Bucs up close, like, Darvin Hamm is prominently involved in what they're doing, bro. So, shouts to him. I'm happy for him.
I'm against it. I'm of the baseball and W.W. The NCAA rivalry. We're like when we win the division, when we win our conference on record, celebrate it. We win the conference tournament, celebrate it.

Yeah, I tend to agree with that. I think for a neutral site thing to work, I think it would just need more lead up time and hype and build up. And it's hard to do that when the turnaround time is two days of when we know who the matchups are going to be. It's just hard to promote and build anticipation and and that quicker turnaround.
So it's hard to create that sense of urgency within the building. I definitely agree with that. Again, I wonder, why can't the NBA figure out how to get people to Las Vegas and have a rabid crowd? Maybe I'm just underestimating how hard it is to create that kind of thing. Shit, Steve Ballmer had to create the goddamn wall. to do it for the Clippers, right? Like, at his own home arena.
So I guess it isn't as easy as it is. Like, not everything's going to be Chase Center or a Laker game or the freaking Guard. Like, not everything can be that. Or even OKC home games, right? Like, not everything can be that. But I do wonder if there's something to just goosing the hype and anticipation so that people want to go no matter who the matchup is.
And maybe that's just unrealistic that the NBA is going going to ultimately be a matchup-based business. And the bottom line is, if the Knicks and the Warriors were in this final, there would have been a shit ton of buzz in that arena, period.
If you can believe it, you can achieve it.
