Proposing a 24-hour gas station with 12 pumps, approximately 5,600 square feet, convenience store immediately next door to my home,
That's not a good option for me as a homeowner.
It means lights all night, delivery trucks, engine idling, and constant cars coming, going at every time throughout my neighborhood and in my backyard.
With this increased traffic at all hours, more turning movements near the neighborhood entrance, greater safety concerns for our children who walk, bike, and wait for school buses nearby.
Even with traffic measures, the intensity of 24-hour operation brings a risk that simply cannot be landscaped away.
For many of us, our home is our largest financial investment.
Property values are affected by location and surrounding uses.
Being directly adjacent to a 24-hour round-the-clock fuel station changes how buyers perceive our neighborhood.
That affects not just comfort, but equity and long-term investment and financial security for my family.
My neighbors and I chose Heritage Crossing because it's a residential community.
We expected development on Sutley Road, but we did not expect it to be right in my backyard and around the clock fuel station directly in our neighborhood.
I'm not anti-development.
We understand this property can be used for commercial purposes.
We simply are asking that there is something compatible to what the people nearby expect.
we really want there and it's not a gas station because we got several that have been built there in that area.
So when you cast your vote, please remember the families that are beyond that property land who will live there with the consequences every single day.
And I respectfully ask you to deny this permit and protect my neighborhood.
