Let me bring us back to center.

I'm the last man standing from the 2019 board of Corey Stewart in that era.

This county looks nothing, and no disrespect to that board, this county looks nothing like that board's error.

In 2019, in February, there was this proposal to raise the C&P tax and max it out, and I was the no vote on that because we had an agreement for a year to study the industry and then increase it next year.

At that time, I said my focus was to try and get a C&P tax higher than our residential tax rate.

which reality is completely impossible.

It's not going to happen.

But what's happened today is that we're in a far better place than we were in 2019, and we have revenue, as it's been stated and shown, that we can do more with today.

So my priority right now this year, because I believe this is the year that we can actually do something for the residents and show a decrease in their residential real estate assessments or tax rates and really help out in that category.

To the bus system, no thriving city will be successful without a public transportation system.

We must invest in this system, and we never have done that to the way that we can.

We've been riding off of a gas tax that has failed, and we've known that for the last five years that we're going to be to this point to try to figure out how we're going to fund this bus system.

That means the world to Prince William County.
