Well, we really don't know much here, Brad.
We only know that this was a 40-year-old woman.
She was unvaccinated.
As you mentioned, this is the third death that was reported in the state.
It's the first time Pennsylvania has actually seen measles death in over 35 years.
And then how unusual
Well, Brad, you have to remember, measles was actually declared eliminated in the year 2000.
We had this virus beat.
Health officials had said there was no longer enough spread
to declare it prominent in the United States.
But in recent years, we've seen more and more cases and more and more outbreaks.
And Pennsylvania is really an epicenter here in the United States.
It's claimed almost nearly 700 infections, more than 100 hospitalizations here.
But it's not alone.
There's nearly 40 outbreaks across the United States.
And nationally, we've seen over 3,000 measles cases, the highest number since 1991.

So if you just look back at the numbers, Brad, in terms of vaccination rates, back in 2019, 95% of kindergartners had the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine, that MMR shot.
