You can't just sign those players as unrestricted free agents.
You can't acquire those players for peanuts.
You have to be willing to expend substantial assets right now.
You look at the market.
Top six forwards, especially guys with youth, are going for multiple first round picks.
Dora Feb to the Rangers, McTavish to the Blues.
