Um Eklund um went for multiple high picks in in the return trade.
They're going to Ottawa.
Like these guys cost quite a bit.
And I think that if you're a team that either has extra assets or is truly in a place to push for a cup.
Those are no brainer trades.
If you're a team like the Kings that is a little bit in the middle
I think that
You have to be smarter about it.
And what I saw that the Kings did was they made shorter term commitments.
They upgraded the forwards for sure during free agency, but they didn't do anything that handcuffs them in the future.
And if you look at next summer and the summer beyond that, between contracts expiring, the cap going up, the Kings have thirty to forty million dollars in cap space and they're in a much better place to potentially make a bigger move.
uh than they were right now.
So I do still think that the team is pushing forward.
They're trying to improve the roster, um, but they aren't doing so recklessly.
And I think it is it's honestly very important that they they take that approach um as opposed to maybe misjudging where they're at.
I haven't seen it yet.
I mean, to truly, truly bring in, say, a top line or even top six center.
You're probably creating another hole on the roster to do so.
Um, or you're saying, hey, we're giving up our next three first-round picks and we're going all in on this.
