With a Leo Carlson, if you're gonna overpay a guy, at least you're paying him as he enters his prime, right?
You're you're ideally paying him for what could be his best years.
And you wonder if teams will recognize that as a threat and start to sign these younger players to these bigger ticket deals earlier um to kind of start paying players in their prime and then ideally for them keeping players for the longer haul.
The easy answer, frankly, is I don't know.
But I feel like it made some sense to like we could talk about expansion because you talk about
The salary cap going up.
A big part of the revenue for a lot of these teams would be an expansion fee.
And I think that that helps, you know, teams probably want expansion because with that comes an expansion fee.
And with that comes money and revenue coming to these teams as the cap goes up to continue to improve their roster and to invest in the players.
Um
Houston certainly discussed.
Um Atlanta has long been discussed.
Um
To put a year or a timetable on it, I think is kind of irresponsible.
Like I don't think anybody truly knows.
Um
My gut would say the NHL would love to get to thirty six teams at the end of the day.
Then you have even divisions or even conferences.
Um, maybe it's an opportunity to to change the playoff format.
If you have more teams, maybe you look at adding a playoff a play in round or something to that effect.
