I don't know exactly how he fits in, but you wonder with a guy like that, is he here just to to compete to be the seventh D?
Or is he maybe here to compete for a job in the opening night six?
And and I think it's it's realistic that it that it could be the latter.
I mean I certainly I think it depends on who those players are, right?
I I think there are definitely players available who fit the skill set the Kings want.
And I think that there are teams who would want players the Kings have, but
It it's a give and take.
You have to find the right fit on both sides.
Um, to to answer the question a little more directly, like I I don't think this is a scenario where the Kings would look to send maybe a surprising player down.
It doesn't make a ton of sense from a cap standpoint.
You only get about a million dollars worth of savings, even if a player makes say
four, five, six million dollars.
It doesn't matter.
Um, like when the Kings sent Cal Peterson down a few years ago, they only got that like 1.1 million in cap savings.
The rest of it stays on your cap.
Um, I go back to though the Gustavson thing.
Like I I do think it's a legitimate scenario that maybe someone who played regularly last year isn't gonna be in that same spot this year.
Um, I could see that being something that gets determined during training camp.
I I think I look at Gustavson as someone who's a plus skater.
Perunovich is a plus skater.
