Um, those guys could come in and compete for jobs and not just jobs on the roster, but jobs in the opening night lineup.
Um, I think that's a realistic possibility.
And if the Kings aren't able to maybe make that bigger move right away.
I see that as maybe being something that could be a bit of a stopgap where you have older players who play a certain way.
They wouldn't be coming in and be asked to be number two or number three defensemen.
You're looking probably at a five or a six role.
And maybe that's a way that the Kings have that option they didn't have last year.
Last year their seventh D was Jacob Overar, an excellent defender, well liked teammate.
But he was a defender.
He didn't didn't skate all that well, didn't have puck movement.
These guys bring a different element.
And I think that if a player like that was in the mix last year, I think you would have seen the Kings try some different things with a puck moving type player.
Um, now they have those players and a coach who prioritizes those players.
And I think that you could see some movement potentially that way.
So you look at where the kings are at in net, I thought about it a lot.
It's very interesting because on the surface you say there's maybe one too many cooks in the kitchen here.
Like you have five goaltenders, all of whom you'd think should be playing at an AHL or higher level.
But that's one too many for those two jobs, right?
You have Kemper and you have Forsberg, both with one year left on their deals, but both are established NHL veterans.
Um, if they're both here and they're both healthy, those two players will both be on the NHL roster.
