if they are going to end up being kind of this pitching front team and kind of leaning on the pitching and defense.
Yeah, no, he's you know, it's funny when you kind of look at the guys when they're when they're on a heater.
And for him, it seems like there's there's not really comparable when he's going well because he's hitting homers.
He's coming up with with big hits.
You know, I think yesterday three for four with with two walks, obviously the go ahead single there.
It's really at this point, you know, kind of where they are without Kazuma Okamoto.
And of course, he makes a couple of nice plays defensively as well.
um just kind of watching him you know i i think when he comes over you're you're almost expecting him to be kind of this this higher average maybe not as much power guy but then of course you know he comes out here and has 17 homers in in 77 games and you know certainly that that does align kind of with the the power numbers that that he was putting up in japan and he's almost been more mirakami than than i think than
And, you know, I was certainly expecting I think anybody was kind of expecting and just kind of watching watching him hit watching all the power has been, you know, such such a nice little bit of a change of pace for them to kind of have this guy who can come up there and and really be this threat.
You know, I think kind of watching specifically the Astros pitchers work.
work around him in in recent days you know i think the the homer yesterday kind of forced them and peter lambert um or sorry his homer on monday kind of forced peter lambert yesterday to kind of be work around the zone and not want to come in and challenge him so i think um just kind of having that threat is is really important and you know like i said you know when when he's on it feels like there's not uh very many more uh threatening hitters in in baseball than than he has been
Yeah, it's funny, like the way that the Blue Jays lineup has worked this year, because you really are confident.
I mean, you know, confident as far as like lineup construction and track records go with putting Springer and Vlad at the top.
And then you're just kind of trying to fit the puzzle pieces together below that with with who's going right at the right time.
And I think Varshow, obviously.
You know, you kind of look at the way that he's performed this year.
Obviously, you know, this team has kind of needed some slug and the Dalton Varshow of 2025 with with 20 homers and 71 games.
And it felt like he was homering, you know, almost every single game, whatever level he was at, whether it was with the Jays and the majors, whether it was kind of on his rehab track back in the minors, whether it was in spring training.
And this year, as you said, you know, it's kind of been.
a little bit of a different approach.
