It's a husk of what Hyrule really would be.
And we get that in, of course, many different games.
But in this game, it really feels like you're actually at the brink of collapse.
And it's maybe not because of Ganondorf or any sort of mystical force.
It's just that this whole kingdom is devoid of
of energy to the point where we call her Princess Zelda in that game, but she's actually kind of Queen Zelda.
And Link has no connection to the royal family.
He's not really a knight.
And I think as much as Nintendo tried to make this link into like the emo bad boy hero crusader, he's actually just like so thrown into a weird, often disturbing world that the game is disturbingly designed.
The characters have weird faces.
There's,
A character with a weird baby face that still haunts my nightmares and a very low voice despite being a baby.
I just think it captures a lot of the stranger elements of Majora's Mask and then also plays against the tension of what Nintendo intended this link to be.
that you have this hero character who may ultimately win the battle, but is left with like a husk of Hyrule and of a life to contend with.
There's an emptiness to that game that doesn't exist in other Zelda games.
And I think that makes Link very compelling.
And the wolf thing.
And the wolf thing.
Yeah, and the wolf thing.
I'll go to favorite song actually.
