Sort of the a answer is a bit burning on the tip of my tongue, to be honest, because how can we not think about this right now?

Because young people are not voting, and young people, if they are voting, are increasingly, as I just said, voting for far right parties which are essentially threatening democracy.

Democracy on the European continent.

So, how do I feel about the future?

I try to be very positive.

I try to be very optimistic.

But if you look at trends in general, um, and you don't even listen to this podcast, you will see that it should not like it's not looking good.

But where it is looking good, we can see that.

There is significant change.

And what do I mean by that?

It is that there are increasing safeguards against the propagation of false information.

We are now know how to fight disinformation campaigns, and people that are propagating disinformation are now being held accountable.

So this is the first step towards fighting that disinformation and fighting.

those um extreme ideas that are being pushed on social media.

And then the second step is not of course not condemning the people, but trying to also analyze where all this is really coming from.

Because if you take the example of Brexit, we see that a lot of foreign actors have also in sort of

mess messed with that.

Uh if you take the election, the recent election in Romania, right, it was absolutely discovered the Russian officials gave money to a lot of Romanians, a lot of Moldovians as well during the Moldovan election, to vote for a more pro Russian uh person, right?

And that that warns us on as well being more careful about the limits

of our democracy and how to safeguard them.
