The the use case for open USD is drastically different than what you might find in Tether a Circle.
Um
And I think that is kind of the narrowly different kind of v vision that th that it has.
I think historically people have been very skeptical of consortium like, you know, um
uh let's just say developments in terms of open standard.
Um but we th this team is taking a very different approach that you know having one common shared view, one stable coin that everyone can use that's going to be fully fungible will be kind of the the name of the game.
And again it's it's really d just the underlying that they care about that that that will be very different.
So um right now Visa for example they settle you know hundreds of millions of dollars a day in
terms of um you know stable coin transactions, um making that on their own network, you know, reduces fees, reduces kind of the frictions that they have already, makes Mint and Burn very s very seamless.
So that's kind of their
You know,
MO on on why why they wanted to to to develop this and it also makes sense for us because we are indeed a payment chain that has to work with a lot of different partners.
So a lot of our other partners that aren't Visa are also a part of this um, you know, kind of uh network, uh if you want to call it that.
Um and and I think that that will prove to be quite valuable, I think, uh just having an open standard literally uh for for different teams.
I think they just serve different purposes.
I think, you know, when Secretary Bessant said that, you know, stable coins would go to two trillion in in supply, you know, I don't think that was a world where um, you know, the tether use case for long tail sort of uh emerging market is not necessarily nullified by visa needing a better stablecoin settlement network, right?
So they're just different use cases.
And I think what we're learning very quickly is that
everyone is coming around and coalescing around the idea that stablecoins have a lot larger purpose than just, you know, being a settlement, you know, uh apparatus or being a uh distributor fac uh uh function of of US dollars or being a you know kind of savings account um and it just will be served by different issuers and different uh teams over time.
I think there's just gonna be different use cases.
