It's just crazy.

So I just thought, you know, I never saw it as a place where I'd be able to settle.

Yeah.

Because public broadcasting doesn't pay the big bucks, I'll tell you that.

But...

We made the decision to move back and we managed to time it so that we were both up for our long service leave because we'd both been working in our jobs.

I'd been working there for much more than 10 years, but my partner had been working there for about 10 years in his job.

And so we went, oh, you know what?

We're going to pack up our place in Darlinghurst, send it all down to Melbourne.

And then just piss off with no bills, no overheads, no responsibility and go on long service leave for three months.

So we traveled, went to America, went to Mexico for most of it, a little bit of Costa Rica.

And then we landed back in Australia and into Melbourne on January 20, 2020.

And there was news that something was happening in China and six weeks later we're in lockdown and it was all on.

But I've got to say that because whenever I tell people that who I haven't seen for a while, it's like, oh, good timing.

It's like, you know what, it was a very hard time as everybody and I won't go into the COVID chat because it's, especially here in Melbourne, we just push it all down and forget about it.

Yeah.

I wasn't in Melbourne for it, but.

Yeah.

It's just, yeah, we just kind of go, that's fine, moving on.

But I was really grateful to be so close to my parents.
