I did know that I wanted to wind up at Triple J before I was 40.

I didn't imagine that I'd be ending my relationship at the same time.

But I kind of just went, I just cleared the decks that year for whatever reason.

I don't know if they were related, but it was all happening at the same time.

So I was, yeah, 39.

How did you feel telling your family and friends about the split?

That was hard because everyone loves Jeff and everyone was super sweet and supportive to me.

My mum came up from Melbourne and helped me pack up the house, just like she'd helped me move up to Sydney 14 years earlier.

Just so beautifully supportive and a really good packer as well.

But the funniest thing I think was one of my oldest friends who I've known since I was 14 just said to me one day, I'd never wanted to say this to you when you broke up, but I'm so glad you got back together with Jeff because he's one of the best people ever and we're all so heartbroken.

And I'm really glad she didn't tell me because it's the last thing you want to hear when you break up.

It's like, you've made a mistake.

Like respect to her for going, you've made the decision.

But it was also really lovely to hear that.

And I know how much it's, yeah, you always want, I think it's a good sign if your friends love your partner.

And a bad sign if it's the opposite.

But everyone was pretty stoked that we got back together again.

Yeah, I dated a couple of people, just short dates.

I had a fling.

I love a holiday fling, long distance.
