And it was such an emotional experience for me because first of all, it's like one of my favorite shows ever and completely, you know, lit a fire inside of me in terms of
what I love, which is storytelling, adventure, travel, the unknown, creating, sharing things with lots of people, all that sort of stuff, both personally and professionally.
But also I just thought, oh, someone's asking me to do something that's got nothing to do with music.

And I know that I can do a million other things and I've got a million other things that I love and I'm passionate about and that I'm smart about and I am deep into music.
but from the public's perspective, I'm the music person.
I'm the music expert.
That's the person that you get on to talk about Taylor Swift's wedding or, you know.
Olivia Rodrigo's new album.
Yeah, or talk about the death of an icon, you know, but there's much more to me and for the last few years I've been wanting to explore that side of me.
So this call and that, I guess, vote of confidence coming from the people who wanted me to host meant more to me than probably even they knew as well.
Yeah, it's totally different.
And for me, I'm someone who, coming from a background in radio where I sort of did everything myself to a large degree, there's a lot of control I lose in this show.

And that's hard for me, but it's a really good learning curve to understand that if something's falling over, someone else has got, you know, they're going to fix it, you know.

I think that doing the show, I guess I kind of liken it to learning the choreography of a really hard dance.
And there's like five different cameras and there's two that are moving and I need to be moving between them.
not just these different cameras but also totally scripted stuff and then just stuff off the top of my head.
I need to be having chats with the contestants, with the races and with the judges, you know, chatting with the audience, chatting with the audience at home, all that sort of stuff.
