So that's when the GP accepts the Medicare rebate as full payment, meaning the patient pays nothing out of pocket. matched

The bulk billing rate nationally, I was interested in finding out whether that's growing, declining, what it is. matched

And so this is a very common conversation in my family's households. matched
But from November 2025 to January 2026, the bulk billing rate jumped to 81.4% nationwide, which is the largest quarterly increase in 20 years outside of the pandemic. matched
And the government has been pushing for more doctors to be bulk billing and for a broader range, I guess, of the Australian society to be covered by bulk billing. matched
So not just children and concession card holders but more and more people. matched

But there's always a but. matched
When we look at the data of young people who can actually access a GP who bulk bills because you are not required to bulk bill, 47% said they don't have access or regular access to one that bulk bills. matched
And so while having that on offer is something that is broadening and more profitable, matched
GPs are offering it. matched
The frequency with which young people can access that, certainly in our audience at least, I need to acknowledge that this is just a subset of our audience, not representative of the whole of Australia, there is still an issue accessing bulk billing doctors. matched
And it's not just GPs. matched
