you are really probably doing the right thing.
But for me, like I said, I'm a bit different sometimes when I don't like Donald Trump, for example, I will just say it and I don't care because it's just what I think.
And I feel like if I don't say what I think, it's almost like I'm purposefully avoiding the truth or something, you know?
I feel like it's another language.
This is like using a lot of understatements and euphemisms.
And basically it's, it's something that you understand when you, when a Brit talks to a Brit, they understand exactly what they mean.
You've, you've, you have touched upon this on your podcast many, many a time.
Yeah.
For instance, I, I always remember your example of, I will try to make it when you get invited to a party and you want to reject, you want to reject the invitation.
You don't want to go there.
And instead of saying, no,
I won't come, or even say, sorry, I won't make it.
Instead, you say, I will try to make it, which if you are within this culture, you should understand when a Brit tells you, I will try to make it, it means I'm definitely not coming.
But in my culture, if I translate it word for word, even the modal verb might, it actually means there is a pretty good chance I will come.
So this is the difference, you see.
So I think if you know the British culture, I think your listeners, they have been listening to you for a long time, probably learning English for a long time.
They got a pretty good insight into these cultural, what is it called?
