Andy Burnham said he's going to stick to these tax pledges.

But I think there was a really interesting piece of polling done by YouGov the other week.

which basically said that Britons tend to feel it's more important for an Andy Burnham government to pursue policies it believes is right than to stick to policies in the Labour manifesto.

So 48% of people they polled said they think it's better if Andy Burnham does what he believes is right rather than sticking to the manifesto.

Only 16% said stick to manifesto promises.

I do wonder if, you know, a year into Andy Burnham's government, he's actually going to say, do you know what?

We really have no choice but to raise taxes.

That's the way it is.

There'll be a general election in two years time.

You've got to trust me on this.

I have a vision for this country and the current Labour manifesto in his current form can't fix that.
