That's what anti-abortion people want.
So, like, anti-abortion people saying the three-day wait is brilliant, it's purely because it delays and perhaps stops women doing what they want to do.
If a woman is unsure...
she can wait three days.
She can go to the doctor and come back.
There is counselling available.
When you're in pregnancy options or something, there's counselling that you can get, both before and after abortion.
You know, there's nothing to stop a woman taking a few days, deciding, making up her mind, speaking to her family if she wishes.
Again, no one is getting a pregnancy test, a positive pregnancy test and getting into a GP the same day.
We don't have that.
We don't have the health care that allows for that in this country.
So a woman is generally taking time anyway because she won't get a GP appointment for another week or so.
She's taking that time.
She's thinking things over.
Lorraine at the beginning, who has done research, has said the women have made up their minds when they go to the GP.
And if they haven't, that's fine.
They can take three days.
They can get their prescription and wait.
Eilis, forcing them in legislation to have to do another visit.
