And I'm so glad that you are reaching out s for listeners to to be able to have a space that they can learn and grow and understand themselves and their partners. It's fabulous. Thank you. It's really important, isn't it? It is so important. So many misunderstandings and and And unfortunately with that, you know, it can create so much conflict. So
When I got married, I had no idea I was marrying someone with ADHD. I had no idea how those pieces fit together. Um and looking back, it would have been so helpful to have resources like the ones that you provide. So Let's get right into it. Um Our listeners for the most part kind of know what ADHD is. They they know in general what the symptoms are. Can we start with What challenges does ADHD create in marriage and we think about those three symptoms, right? The inability to regulate attention, the impulsivity, and the hyperactivity. We know that there's a whole host of other things that ADHD is related to, that that's kind of the tip of the iceberg. But Tell us what you see in your practice and what we know about how does ADHD create conflicts in relationships?
So th that's the only question you need to ask me for the rest of today because I can talk about it for the hour. Let me try to focus on a few pieces because again it's such an important question. And like you said, not only for yourself getting married to somebody and not realizing There could be a number of things that I need to be aware of, right? So many people are coming in nowadays and maybe they had ADHD for the last 20, 30, 40, 50 years. But it didn't mean anything. Like I'm not hyperactive anymore as a lit like I was as a teenager and I, you know, um uh I'm not having problems in school anymore because I'm not in school but Like w how wha what's happening now?
